An ABA Practicum Student provides school, home, and community-based therapy support services to children and adults with developmental disabilities. The Practicum Student works strictly under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst to help foster and develop the upcoming professionals ethically and effectively in the field of ABA. The ABA Practicum Student is a graduate student undergoing completion of their master's program in the field of applied behavior analysis in pursuit of sitting for the board certification exam for behavior analyst. This role may start as an RBT but as their educational experience along with their application experience increase their role and activities on the case increases as well. This gradual increase will be determined by performance reviews, feedback sessions and ultimately by their supervising BCBA. Practicum students must be in grad school pursuing a degree in ABA working towards their practicum hours to sit for the BCBA or BCaBA exam Responsibilities and Expectations Receive training on Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) for each consumer on their case load. Collect data on a daily basis and provide it to the Behavior Analyst on a weekly basis. Communicate regularly with the Behavior Analyst. Train caregivers to implement the BIPs. Implement the BIP in all relevant settings. Attend meetings regarding consumer's behavior services as necessary. Conduct quality 1:1 ABA therapy to clients in a home-based setting. Implement ABA treatment programs as written by the BCBA Collect data to monitor the progress and effectiveness of the individualized treatment plan utilizing data collection software. Provide hands-on, direct care while following the principles of ABA. Adhere to all policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, confidentiality and mandated reporting standards as set by Regal Behavior Solutions. Maintain appropriate social distancing, safety, and enhanced protective hygiene practices both on and off the job. Communicating clearly and effectively (both orally and written )with clients, families, and colleagues. Provide regular written and verbal progress on treatment goals. Attend meetings, trainings, and workshops to acquire further knowledge. May have regular contact with individuals that exhibit aggressive physical behaviors Other duties assigned
