Bayside, NY Job Details $22 - $35 an hour 6 days ago Qualifications Experience working with individuals with disabilities High school diploma or GED Full Job Description ABA Behavior Therapist/ Technician responsible for the provision of direct one to one behavioral intervention to teach communication, social and daily living skills and reduce problematic behaviors in the home, community and school settings. Behavior Technicians will utilize interventions developed out of the science of Applied Behavior Analysis and will be supervised by an experienced
BCBA. JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Provides direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training. 2. Follows the behavioral plan developed by BCBA supervisor. 3. Collects, records, and summarizes data on observable client behavior. 4. Utilizes safe & appropriate handing procedures when working with clients. 5. Maintains client confidentiality. 6. Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment. 7. Collaborates with treatment team including client, parents and caregivers, outside professionals, and co-workers. 8. Maintains and acquires technical knowledge by attending required trainings. 9. Collects data on all programming and writes progress notes 10. Adheres to Agency standards and consistently interprets and accurately performs all assigned responsibilities. 11. Maintains acceptable attendance status, per Agency policy 12. Attends all staff meetings and patient care conferences as scheduled 13. Responsible for timely travel to homes and or throughout community, as needed. #SMSA123
Location:
New Hyde Park, NY Formal education required: High School Diploma or GED equivalent, if RBT certified; BA preferred.
Previous experience required:
Must have 1 - 2 years experience working with special needs children in various settings. Must be willing to train and become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) within 6 months of hire.
