Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in behavioral health and demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional care to individuals with intellectual disabilities, with autism, and other behavioral challenges. The Behavior Specialist serves as the clinical lead for teams responsible for providing service to individuals diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their own homes and community settings (including residential settings). They are responsible for the completion of assessments related to the function of behaviors, development of behavior support and crisis intervention plans, and oversight of plan implementation. This role involves assessing patient needs, implementing behavioral therapy strategies, and collaborating with families to promote positive outcomes. Responsibilities Complete direct and indirect assessments as they relate to the process of developing a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) Utilize outcomes of FBA to develop Behavior Support Plan (BSP) and Crisis Intervention Plan (CIP) that comply with regulatory and best-practice standards. Provide treatment team and applicable parties with feedback on plan implementation and behavioral progress on an ongoing basis. Relate, interact, and communicate positively and professionally when supporting individuals. Support and assist the individuals in enhancing skills that will further their independence, increase their community involvement, and improve their quality of life. Ensure that the health and safety of the individual(s) is maintained at all times. Timely documentation, via an electronic service note, of each direct and consultative encounter related to the individual as it relates to their ISP, outcomes, and progress. Motivate and assist the individuals in all areas designated in the ISP as outcomes. Support individuals in the development of skills to independently advocate for themselves and procure services as needed. Meet and communicate regularly with the Program Manager(s), as needed, to clarify job responsibilities, discuss individual needs, and receive additional guidance. Complete 24 hours of required training, including online and in-person training. Complete additional training, as assigned by Program Manager(s). Provide focused attention to individual(s) at all times and report any concerns or issues to the Program Manager accordingly. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Masters degree in psychology, social work, special education, or Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Experience (1 year+) with functional behavior assessment process and composition PA Behavior Specialist Licence and Board Certification as a Behavior Analyst (BCBA) preferred, but not required Required to provide on-call assistance as needed outside of regular work hours. Have and maintain a valid driver's license. Have and maintain a vehicle inspection and registration. Have and maintain Pennsylvania state minimum standard auto insurance. Provide transportation for participants utilizing a personal vehicle. Provide acceptable criminal history checks. Complete a physical examination and TB test as required. Complete CPR/First Aid training every two years.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to physically assist individuals with behavioral or emotional challenges as needed, which may include non-violent crisis intervention techniques. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and moving between locations, such as offices or individuals' homes. Ability to observe and monitor client behavior and environment for extended periods. Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 50 pounds Ability to kneel, bend, or reach to engage with individuals. Visual and auditory acuity to accurately observe and respond to clients' verbal and non-verbal cues. Must be able to remain alert and responsive during all work hours, including during challenging or crisis situations. Capable of performing duties in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes under stressful or unpredictable conditions. Ability to safely transport individuals in your personal vehicle.
