The School-Based Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) works under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or BCaBA to implement behavior intervention plans and provide direct support to students with behavioral, social, communication, and developmental needs within a school setting. The RBT supports students in achieving academic, social, and behavioral goals while promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities Implement individualized behavior intervention plans as designed by the School District Provide one-on-one or small group behavioral support to students in classrooms, special education settings, and other school environments Collect accurate data on student behavior, skill acquisition, and progress toward goals Assist students with social skills, communication, emotional regulation, and adaptive behaviors Support students during transitions, academic activities, and unstructured times (e.g., lunch, recess, hallway transitions) Use evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques, including reinforcement, prompting, modeling, and behavior reduction strategies Respond to challenging behaviors using approved de-escalation and crisis management techniques
