Job Description

This role is a contract, hourly position that will occur from August-May. Summers off!! Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Behavior Technician/Academic Support professional to support a 13 year old male client who is diagnosed with ASD. In this role, you will provide direct behavioral therapy and academic assistance to an adolescent with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders. Your primary focus will be implementing evidence-based interventions, collecting behavioral data, and supporting students' educational and behavioral growth within the family's beautiful home setting just across the Wrightsville bridge. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of these family members while gaining valuable experience in applied behavior analysis (ABA), special education, and behavioral health. Responsibilities •This client exhibits no high intensity behaviors and his program is focused on skill acquisition and social skills. Vocational development will become a primary focus of his future care.• Assist the client with activities of daily living (ADLs), promoting independence and skill development. Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) as applicable Conduct behavioral data collection accurately during therapy sessions to monitor progress and inform treatment adjustments. Support academic goals by teaching educational concepts aligned with his home school curriculum Utilize positive reinforcement strategies and other effective behavior management techniques. Communicate regularly with family membersa nd other team members to ensure consistency and progress toward goals. Maintain detailed medical documentation, behavioral records, and care plans in compliance with HIPAA regulations and professional standards. Participate in weekly supervisions with your supervisor Qualifications Experience working with children, particularly those with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders is preferred Knowledge of special education practices, behavior management, and ABA therapy protocols is preferred Ability to assist with ADLs and support clients' daily routines effectively Strong skills in data collection, medical documentation, and client communication is preferred Home-based behavioral experience or school experience is highly desirable. Commitment to ethical standards outlined in the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
