Job Description

Metro Therapy Center is a dynamic and growing multidisciplinary therapy practice in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Our team currently provides Speech-Language Pathology and Occupational Therapy services, and we are looking for an exceptional Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to help us develop and grow a behavioral program that aligns with our philosophy of care. We are specifically seeking a BCBA who practices from a neurodiversity-affirming, child-led, and assent/permission-based approach. We are looking for a clinician who prioritizes connection, regulation, autonomy, communication, and meaningful participation rather than compliance or simply eliminating behaviors. We would love to meet a BCBA who: Practices neurodiversity-affirming and child-led care Uses an assent-based/permission-led approach and respects a child's right to communicate "no," "stop," or "not right now" Seeks to understand the function and meaning behind behavior rather than focusing solely on reducing the behavior Prioritizes emotional safety, trust, regulation, autonomy, and quality of life Develops goals that are meaningful and functional for the child and family Uses positive, compassionate approaches rather than compliance-driven methods Values naturalistic, play-based intervention Collaborates closely with SLPs, OTs, families, schools, and other members of a child's care team Respects all forms of communication, including AAC Is thoughtful, curious, compassionate, and willing to individualize treatment rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach At Metro, collaboration is central to how we practice. Our clinicians regularly collaborate across disciplines, learn from one another, and work together to provide individualized care. Our practice specializes in areas including: Neurodiversity-affirming care AAC Feeding therapy Myofunctional therapy Sensory and occupational therapy Pediatric speech and language therapy Interdisciplinary care We also have Allegro, our Canine Companions facility dog, who works alongside our clinical team. We are expanding our facility and programs and would love to find the right BCBA to help shape this service from the beginning. This is an opportunity for someone who wants more than simply step into an established ABA model. You would have the opportunity to collaborate with our leadership and clinical teams to help build a program grounded in respectful, child-centered care.
