Behavior Consultant (Part Time)
Job Description
Position Overview Clinton City Schools is seeking a skilled and collaborative Behavior Consultant to support our instructional teams. This part-time position serves both general education and special education staff by providing guidance, strategies, and intervention support for students with behavioral needs. Key Responsibilities Partner with general and special education teachers, staff, and administration to evaluate and address student behavioral challenges. Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and proactive classroom strategies. Model effective, evidence-based behavioral techniques directly in classroom environments. Provide ongoing consultation, data collection support, and coaching to build staff capacity in managing complex behaviors. Maintain clear communication with educators, administrators, and parents regarding student progress and behavioral goals. Required Qualifications Proven experience working with children from PreK through 6th grade across a variety of settings (e.g., public schools, clinical settings, or specialized intervention programs). Strong foundational knowledge of child development, positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS), and classroom management techniques. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams in both regular and special education environments. Relevant degree or certification in Special Education, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), School Psychology, or a closely related field.
