Schedule:

PM Hours:
Approximately 5-30 hours per week, depending on student needs and applicant availability No RBT certification yet? We offer training and support toward RBT certification for qualified candidates. Midsouth Therapy Group is looking for caring, energetic Behavior Technicians (BTs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) who would love the opportunity to work with young children in a private preschool setting . This is not a traditional all-day clinic position. Our technicians provide individualized, 1:1 behavioral support within the child's preschool day , helping children participate successfully in the routines and experiences that matter to them — classroom activities, circle time, centers, play, transitions, peer interactions, playground, meals, and other naturally occurring preschool activities. If you love the energy of a preschool classroom, enjoy being on the floor playing and teaching, and want to help a young child become more independent and successful in their everyday environment, this could be a great fit. New to ABA? We Can Help You Become an RBT You do not need to already be an RBT to apply. If you have experience working with preschool-aged children and are interested in growing into the field of Applied Behavior Analysis, Midsouth Therapy Group can provide training and support toward becoming a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). For qualified candidates, training and support may include: RBT training support Hands-on, onsite training in the preschool setting Training in data collection, prompting, reinforcement, communication, play, transitions, classroom participation, and implementation of individualized behavior plans Opportunities to observe and practice skills with clinical guidance BCBA supervision and ongoing coaching Support preparing for the RBT competency assessment and certification process Continued clinical support after becoming an RBT We are especially interested in applicants with strong preschool, daycare, childcare, early childhood, special education, or behavioral support experience — even if you have never worked in ABA before. We can teach ABA skills. We're looking for someone who already brings the qualities that are harder to teach: reliability, patience, playfulness, professionalism, willingness to learn, and a genuine love of working with young children. What You'll Do Under the direction and supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the Behavior Technician/RBT will provide individualized behavioral support to children within the preschool setting.
Responsibilities may include:
Provide 1:1 behavioral intervention and support within the child's natural preschool environment Implement skill-acquisition and behavior-reduction programs developed by the supervising BCBA Help children participate successfully in classroom routines, circle time, centers, play, transitions, meals, playground activities, and peer interactions Teach communication, social, play, classroom-readiness, and independence skills Support positive behavior and implementation of individualized behavior-support strategies Collect accurate data through direct observation Monitor and document client progress Complete required daily session documentation Follow treatment plans and behavior plans as directed by the supervising BCBA Participate in onsite training, BCBA supervision, and ongoing clinical feedback Communicate professionally with the BCBA, therapy team, caregivers, and preschool staff as appropriate Maintain appropriate professional and clinical boundaries within the preschool environment
Qualifications Required:
At least 18 years of age High school diploma or equivalent Reliable transportation Ability to complete required background screening Dependable attendance and ability to maintain an assigned preschool schedule Ability to follow clinical directions and individualized treatment protocols Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a clinical and preschool team Patience, flexibility, professionalism, and genuine enjoyment of working with young children
For RBT Applicants:
Current Registered Behavior Technician credential in good standing Ability to meet ongoing RBT credentialing and supervision requirements Commitment to applicable ethical and professional standards
For Behavior Technician Applicants:
Previous ABA experience is not required for all candidates. Strong applicants with experience in preschool, childcare, early childhood education, special education, developmental services, or related settings are encouraged to apply. Qualified Behavior Technicians may receive training and support toward obtaining the Registered Behavior Technician credential. Physical Requirements Because services are provided with young children in an active preschool environment, this position may require frequent standing, walking, sitting on the floor, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and moving throughout the classroom and playground. Employees must be able to safely keep pace with young children and remain attentive and engaged throughout scheduled sessions. The position may also involve assisting with or responding to children's behavioral and safety needs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Why This Position Is Different This isn't simply following a child around preschool. Our goal is to help children become more successful and increasingly independent within their actual school day . You may help a child learn to transition with classmates, communicate when something is difficult, participate in circle time, engage appropriately with peers, follow classroom routines, tolerate changes, or complete activities with less adult support. You will have the opportunity to learn from a BCBA, receive onsite training and coaching, and develop clinical skills while working in a setting that is active, playful, social, and centered around young children. If you love preschool and want your work to make a meaningful difference in a child's everyday life, we'd love to hear from you.
