Job Description

Title:
Board Certified Behavior Analyst Location:
Lake Worth, TX Hours:
8am-4pm, Part Time, 25 hours a week
Compensation:
$65
  • $70/hr
Job Description/Role Responsibilities:
The BCBA position is intended to be a district-level support role rather than a position assigned exclusively to one classroom or one campus. The BCBA would work collaboratively with the District Behavior Coordinator and the Special Education/Behavior Support team and campus staff to support students with significant behavioral needs. A typical day would likely include a combination of: Conducting student observations across campuses Completing or assisting with Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) Developing, reviewing, and helping teams implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) Coaching and modeling strategies for teachers and paraprofessionals Reviewing behavioral data and helping teams make data-based decisions Participating in ARD/IEP, behavior, and problem-solving meetings when appropriate Providing staff training in behavior intervention, replacement skills, reinforcement, de-escalation, and data collection Supporting students and classrooms experiencing more intensive or complex behavioral needs The position would serve students districtwide, with time on campuses driven by student need rather than requiring the BCBA to remain at one location throughout the day. Regarding caseload, the goal would be for the BCBA to function as a behavioral consultant and systems-level support rather than simply carrying a large traditional therapy caseload. Students requiring intensive behavioral assessment, intervention planning, or ongoing consultation would receive the greatest level of involvement. Support is also an important part of the position. The BCBA would not be expected to address behavioral needs in isolation. The role would collaborate closely with district Special Education leadership, the District Behavior Coordinator, campus administrators, special education teachers, paraprofessionals, evaluation staff, and other related-service personnel. A major emphasis would be building staff capacity, so behavioral programming is carried out consistently throughout the school day.
