This position requires a compassionate and patient approach to working with learners and their families. Key responsibilities of a compassionate ABA behavior technician may include: 1.
Implementing skills-based intervention plans:
Following the guidance of a supervising behavior analyst, implementing behavior intervention plans designed to address specific skill goals and promote development. 2.
Collecting data:
Accurately recording and documenting data during therapy sessions to track progress and make data-driven decisions. 3.
Providing direct support:
Working one-on-one with learners to provide support and assistance in various settings including community outings, school, and our center. 4.
Assisting with skill development:
Using person-centered, naturalistic, socio-communicative techniques through evidence-based instructional strategies guided by the principles of ABA to teach and reinforce safe behaviors, communication skills, and daily living skills. 5.
Collaborating with the treatment team:
Collaborating with behavior analysts, therapists, and other professionals involved in the client's care to ensure consistency and effective implementation of skills-based intervention plans. 6. Maintaining a safe and supportive environment: Creating a positive and nurturing environment for learners, promoting their well-being and emotional and physical safety during therapy sessions. 7. Continuous learning, coaching support, and professional development: Actively participating in training sessions and seeking opportunities to expand knowledge and skills in ABA principles and techniques. A qualified candidate for Lighthouse should possess strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals with skill development needs. This role requires the ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively, and maintain professionalism while providing compassionate care.
