Category Schools - Behavior Specialist Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic and rewarding contract opportunity as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in the Mesquite, TX area, where your expertise will make a meaningful difference across various school campuses. This full-time itinerant position offers the chance to impact both general and special education students, with your schedule aligning to meet evolving district needs from August 2026 through May 2027.
Key Qualifications:
Current, active Texas BCBA license required Prior school-based experience highly preferred Ability to obtain fingerprint clearance through the Texas Education Agency (TEA) if not previously completed for public schools; clearance must be secured before the assignment start date Strong background in providing behavioral supports, staff training, and supervision for RBTs Adaptability, excellent communication, and collaborative skills
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive behavioral analysis and support for PreK-12th grade students, covering both general and special education populations Travel between multiple school campuses to respond to the district's shifting caseload and priorities Conduct staff training sessions, equipping educators and paraprofessionals with practical, evidence-based behavioral strategies Supervise Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), ensuring fidelity of intervention delivery Maintain detailed progress records, contribute to IEP meetings, and partner with multidisciplinary teams to create effective support plans Address district disproportionality with targeted behavioral intervention and positive practices This role offers a supportive environment and is perfect for those who thrive on variety and are passionate about transformative school-based behavioral work.
