Charlotte Central School (CCS) is seeking an energetic and collaborative professional to join our special education team as an Autism/Behavior Specialist (Anticipated) starting FY27. The successful candidate will be a skilled, caring individual dedicated to providing intensive support in the areas of multi-layered curriculum, communication, behavior, and activities of daily living. In this role, they will work under the supervision of a licensed professional to support the overall smooth functioning of academic programs and student independence. Primary Responsibilities Developing, implementing, and evaluating elements of student instructional and behavioral plans. Integrating instructional, behavioral, and communication interventions into the classroom setting. Fostering student independence to ensure full participation in all school activities. Collecting, maintaining, and interpreting student data for educational personnel. Collaborating with staff, families, and related service providers to ensure instructional continuity. Supervising students during assigned duties, including lunch, recess, and transitions. Carrying out school and district policies with high levels of professional integrity. The Ideal Candidate Will Possess Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build professional rapport and serve as a dedicated advocate for students. An understanding of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Exceptional organizational skills and a flexible, problem-solving approach to supporting student needs. The ability to promote child growth and a persistent willingness to learn and adapt.
