Position Overview

Windham Southwest Supervisory Union (WSWSU) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our Special Education team. The BCBA will provide district-wide behavioral support services, working proactively with students, staff, and families to reduce challenging behaviors and prevent escalation to higher levels of intervention or placement.

Qualifications

  • Current BCBA certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
  • Demonstrated experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs)
  • Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and monitoring Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
  • Experience supervising and mentoring Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs)
  • Strong collaborative and communication skills for working with multidisciplinary teams
  • Valid Vermont licensure or ability to obtain (if applicable to role)
    Key Responsibilities
    Assessment & Planning
  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) to identify the function of student behaviors
  • Develop individualized, data-driven Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
  • Monitor and analyze behavioral data to assess intervention effectiveness and adjust plans as needed
    Supervision & Mentorship
  • Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) working across the district
  • Ensure staff are implementing behavior plans with fidelity
  • Support staff skill development through ongoing coaching and feedback
    Collaboration & Consultation
  • Partner with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to implement behavior strategies with consistency
  • Serve as a resource for staff seeking guidance on de-escalation techniques and proactive behavior support
  • Participate in IEP meetings and educational planning as needed to support behavioral goals
    Professional Development & District Support
  • Design and deliver professional development sessions to build staff capacity in evidence-based behavior strategies
  • Promote a district-wide, proactive approach to behavior support aimed at reducing the need for higher levels of intervention
  • Contribute to a positive, consistent behavioral framework across WSWSU schools
    What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is proactive, collaborative, and passionate about supporting students before behaviors escalate.
