A Behavior Analyst is a mental health professional focusing on applied behavior analysis. Usually requires a certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
Board-Certified Behavior Analyst has two categories of responsibilities: first, client-related responsibilities, and second, supervisory and training responsibilities. Client-related responsibilities include assessing new clients, writing treatment and behavior plans, monitoring progress and making data-driven changes to programming, conducting bi-monthly progress reviews, and completing in-home parent training. Supervisory and training responsibilities include providing initial and ongoing training and feedback to Behavior Treatment Therapists and Technicians and modeling behavior consistent with the principles of Behavior Analysis and the values of TRIO Academy. BCBAs follow the BACB Code of Ethics and utilize Behavioral Skills Training for the implementation of training and feedback.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary duties and responsibilities are listed below. Other duties may be assigned. Abide by professional, legal, and ethical standards as well as demonstrate sound professional judgement at all times Professionally collaborate with family, caregivers and other professionals Collect accurate data Conduct assessments using VB-MAPP, EFL, PEAK, and/or AIM curricula Write and update treatment plans according to TRIO Academy standards Conduct functional assessments via observation, direct testing, and interview to develop and write function- based behavior plans Accept feedback Professionally participate in the client's clinical team Provide ongoing training and feedback to Behavior Treatment Therapists and Technicians using Behavioral Skills Training methodology Maintain professional and quality behavior with families, caregivers, and new employees
QUALIFICATIONS
To fulfill the responsibility of a BCBA successfully, one must reasonably perform each of the Core Duties. The additional requirements listed include knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Reasonable accommodations can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform Core Duties. Master's degree and active certification from the Behavior Analysis Certification Board Over 4,000 hours delivering ABA services and/or providing supervision to others delivering ABA services Wisconsin license preferred, but not required
