10450 72nd St., Pleasant Prairie, WI - Sonnenberg Consultants Development & Community Center Sonnenberg Consultants is hiring Behavior Technicians and Registered Behavior Technicians to join our ABA team at our Development & Community Center (DCC) in Pleasant Prairie, WI. At the Development & Community Center, our focus is helping learners build skills that support greater independence throughout childhood and into adulthood. Services are designed to connect learning to everyday routines, functional skills, communication, social development, and experiences that help individuals participate more independently in their homes, communities, and daily lives. As a Behavior Technician, you'll provide hands-on, individualized ABA support under the guidance and supervision of experienced Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). You'll work directly with learners throughout their day, helping them practice meaningful skills in a structured and supportive environment. No prior ABA experience is required for entry-level candidates. Sonnenberg provides paid training, ongoing supervision, and opportunities to develop your skills and advance within the organization. At a glance Part-time or full-time opportunities may be available In-person ABA position Structured weekday schedule No nights or weekends Development & Community Center setting Paid training provided Ongoing supervision and support from BCBAs Structured routines with opportunities for variety throughout the day Opportunities for professional growth and advancement What this role is really like As a Behavior Technician, you'll provide hands-on, individualized support while helping learners build communication, social, coping, independence, and functional skills identified by their clinical team. This is an active, highly dynamic role where learners may engage in behaviors that interfere with learning, participation, communication, or safety, including behaviors that may be significant or dangerous. You'll implement individualized behavior support plans, help reduce interfering behavior, teach replacement and coping skills, and use appropriate de-escalation strategies when learners become escalated or dysregulated. Resilience and flexibility are essential, as you'll need to remain calm, pivot when plans change unexpectedly, and adjust your approach based on what the learner needs in the moment. You'll also help learners build resilience by teaching them to tolerate changes, cope with frustration, communicate their needs, and recover from difficult moments. You'll work closely with BCBAs and other team members, receiving ongoing training and coaching to respond safely and effectively to challenging situations. This position is best suited for someone who can stay composed under pressure, think on their feet, accept feedback, and remain focused on the learner even when situations are unpredictable or difficult. What you'll do Implement individualized ABA programs with guidance and supervision from BCBAs Support learners during structured activities, transitions, routines, and other daily activities Use structured activities and evidence-based strategies to support skill development Help learners build communication, social, functional, and daily living skills Support the development of independence across age-appropriate activities and routines Follow individualized behavior support plans and respond to challenging behavior according to training and established procedures Collect and document information about learner activities and progress using provided technology Communicate observations and questions to supervisors and members of the learner's team Maintain a safe, supportive, and professional environment for learners and coworkers Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and feedback What we're looking for Required qualifications: High school diploma or GED At least 18 years old Reliable transportation Ability to be active throughout the workday, including floor-based activities Ability to lift up to approximately 20 lbs. Ability to pass required background checks Helpful, but not required: Experience working with children, adolescents, or young adults Experience working with individuals with developmental differences Experience in education, caregiving, behavioral health, or human services Coursework or education in psychology, education, behavior analysis, or a related field Previous ABA or Behavior Technician experience Why join Sonnenberg?
