Per-Diem/Varied Shift Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Biomedical Engineering Manager, the Biomedical Equipment Technician is responsible for the preventive maintenance and repair of medical equipment, to include anesthesia machines, x-ray equipment, patient monitoring and diagnostic equipment. In addition to this, the Biomedical Equipment Tech is also responsible for some non-medical equipment such as pagers and telephones. All systems are to be maintained in a timely manner in accordance with department and hospital policies and procedures. The Biomedical Equipment Tech is also responsible for ordering parts, conducting in-service training for operators and to act as a technical resource to hospital staff.
Education:
High School Graduate or Equivalent. Associates Degree in Biomedical Technology or related field preferred.
Experience:
2 years of biomedical equipment technician experience through a formal hospital program or recognized manufacturers program. Licenses and/or
Certifications:
AAMI (Assoc. of the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation) certification preferred. Varied Shift Per-Diem
