The University of Miami/UHealth department of Clinical Engineering has exciting Full-Time opportunities for Biomedical Technicians 2 to work at the UHealth Medical Campus. The Biomedical Technician 2 performs a variety of routine tasks, including the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of biomedical equipment with minimum supervision.
Core Responsibilities:
- Oversees recall and safety alert programs for medical devices, including medical device hazard investigations, to assure compliance with patient safety goals and applicable requirements.
- Prioritizes workload effectively and completes all work assignments in a timely manner.
- Maintains accurate medical equipment documentation.
- Orders parts and supplies necessary for the servicing of medical equipment.
- Conducts cross-training in the techniques of testing, calibrating, operating, and troubleshooting biomedical systems, for less experienced technicians.
- Reports and documents all medical equipment operation errors and safety issues.
- Maintains medical equipment technical library and makes updates when appropriate.
- Supervises services provided by outside vendors to ensure quality and scope of services have been met.
- Inspects incoming equipment for compliance with codes, standards, and manufacturer recommendations.
- Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required
