Purpose:
Supports installing, testing, calibrating, and repairing all medical equipment.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Installs and adjusts, repairs, calibrates, and tests performance of new biomedical equipment Approves new biomedical equipment by conducting tests, ensuring adherence to codes and makes modification per manufacture specifications Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance (PM) on schedule, call in special servicing, evaluating service contracts and maintain equipment inventories Directs biomedical equipment operation by providing equipment demonstrations, instructing healthcare staff on use and care, answers questions and provides information Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends Maintains equipment supplies inventory for the Biomedical shop by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing, and expediting orders and verifying receipts
Other Duties:
Maintains safe and healthy working environments by conducting safety tests on medical equipment Recommend and comply with Organization procedures and policies/codes Travel to all Wilmington Health locations as needed Any other assigned by manager to include assisting Facility department as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements:
Experience working with medical equipment, electronics, or technical repair/maintenance or completion of a technical training program in biomedical technology, electronics, or a related field. Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems. Ability to follow technical instructions, safety guidelines, and documentation protocols. Comfortable working with tools and diagnostic equipment.
