• Identifies, analyzes, and documents the history, diagnosis, treatment, disease status, and survival data of cancer patients.

Prepares and electronically submits required reporting information to the state and other appropriate cancer databases. Collects data for patient care evaluations, protocol studies, and audits. Complies with all reporting requests and requirements. Abstracts all required cancer-related information into the electronic cancer registry system. Coordinates and maintains the long-term follow-up process of data collection and input for all cancer registry patients. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education:

+ Associate's in Health Information Management [Required]

Work Experience:

+ 5+ years abstracting experience in CoC approved cancer program [Required] + Overall cancer registry experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

+ National Cancer Registrars' Association ( NCRA ) [Required]

+ Oncology Data Specialist ( ODS ) [Required]
