Job Description

Mercy is seeking a skilled CV Sonographer to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will perform comprehensive cardiovascular ultrasound exams, including echocardiograms and vascular studies, using advanced imaging technology to support accurate diagnosis and treatment. You will collaborate closely with cardiologists and interdisciplinary teams, while providing compassionate, patient-centered care. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive cardiovascular ultrasound exams including echo, stress echo, and vascular studies following Mercy protocols. Operate and maintain advanced sonography equipment, ensuring high-quality, diagnostic images. Collaborate closely with cardiologists, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Assess patient history, explain procedures, and provide compassionate, patient-centered care throughout exams. Document, analyze, and upload images and findings in the electronic medical record in a timely, accurate manner. Adhere to all safety, infection control, and quality assurance standards within the Healthcare & Medical Services department. Participate in ongoing education, competency assessments, and process improvement initiatives. Support on-call or weekend coverage as scheduled to meet patient and departmental needs. Required Skills Cardiac sonography (echocardiography) Vascular ultrasound techniques Doppler and color flow imaging Operation of cardiovascular ultrasound equipment Image acquisition and optimization Knowledge of cardiac and vascular anatomy and physiology PACS and EMR documentation Patient positioning and preparation EKG and hemodynamic monitoring basics Adherence to ASE and IAC standards
