POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Cardiac Services Lead RN, the Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehabilitation Cardiac Technician assists in various departmental activities defined by American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) guidelines. Performs evaluation of risk factors and education needs, orientation, education, treatment and care for adult and geriatric patients in Phase II through Phase IV of the Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehabilitation program. Provides support and expertise in exercise physiology for the Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehabilitation program as needed.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Licensure/Certification:
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology, or equivalent education/experience required.
Knowledge:
- Recent experience in Cardiac or Pulmonary Rehabilitation preferred.
- Successful completion of ECG exam.
- Knowledge of adult education theory.
Skills:
- Basic computer skills including work processing, order entry and database management.
- Ability to prioritize work assignments and delegate work as appropriate.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, telephone and written communication skills.
