A Cardiovascular Technician or Technologist uses imaging technology and other procedures to diagnose cardiac (heart) and vascular (blood vessel) problems in patients. Works closely with cardiologists and medical sonographers. Works in hospitals and other healthcare facilities.
Overview The EP Lab CVT, under the direction the of the director/charge person, monitors procedures, assist physician in a scrub-assistant role, and circulates to include all diagnostic EP and cardiac ablations procedures, device implants and explants, cardiac cath procedures to ensures safe patient care.
Qualifications Education:
Associate's Degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, or Respiratory Therapy In Lieu of education requirements, a minimum of five (5) years experience AND•Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Certification (Required within 12 months of hire) OR•Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) Certification (Required within 12 months of hire)
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
FL Certified Radiologic Technologist license with valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification (preferred) OR•FL Registered Respiratory Therapist license with valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification (preferred)•Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Certification OR Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) Certification (Required within 12 months of hire if no degree in the applicable fields)
