Job Description

UF Health is seeking a skilled CVT Charge for our Leesburg Cath Lab. In this full-time day shift role, you will coordinate cardiovascular technologist activities, assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures, and ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. Responsibilities include supervising workflow, mentoring staff, maintaining regulatory standards, and promoting safety and efficiency. Responsibilities Perform and assist with diagnostic and interventional cardiac and vascular procedures in the Cath Lab, adhering to established clinical and safety protocols. Set up, operate, and troubleshoot imaging, hemodynamic monitoring, and related Cath Lab equipment, ensuring accurate data acquisition and image quality. Maintain a sterile field and follow strict infection prevention and radiation safety practices throughout all procedures. Continuously monitor patient condition, vital signs, and hemodynamic parameters before, during, and after procedures, responding promptly to changes and emergencies in collaboration with the care team. Administer or monitor moderate sedation according to policy and support patient comfort and safety during procedures. Coordinate daily case flow for the day-shift Cath Lab, assisting with assignments, scheduling, and workflow to ensure efficient, timely care delivery. Serve as a clinical resource and charge lead for technologists and nursing staff, providing guidance, support, and problem-solving during the shift. Precept, mentor, and support onboarding and training of new technologists and staff, fostering a collaborative and educational environment. Accurately document all procedures, assessments, and interventions in the electronic health record and any required registries or quality databases. Participate in quality improvement, performance initiatives, and adherence to evidence-based protocols to enhance outcomes and patient experience. Assist with inventory and supply management, including monitoring stock levels, equipment readiness, and coordination with vendors and leadership for Cath Lab supplies. Engage in clear, respectful communication with physicians, nurses, patients, and families, ensuring effective handoffs and patient education related to procedures and follow-up care.
