Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cardiac Sonographer to join our pediatric cardiology team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in echocardiography, vascular ultrasound imaging, and cardiac diagnostics, with a strong understanding of cardiology principles and physiology. This role involves performing diagnostic imaging procedures, assisting in interventional procedures, and supporting clinical teams in delivering precise cardiac assessments for young patients. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in medical equipment operation, cardiac rhythm analysis, and maintaining sterile techniques within a fast-paced clinical environment. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive echocardiograms, including transthoracic and transesophageal studies, to evaluate cardiac structure and function in pediatric patients. Perform vascular ultrasound imaging to assess blood flow and vessel integrity as needed for diagnostic purposes. Assist cardiologists during interventional radiology procedures such as cardiac catheterizations, ensuring optimal imaging quality and patient safety. Monitor vital signs and maintain accurate documentation of diagnostic findings using Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS). Apply aseptic techniques rigorously during invasive procedures to prevent infections and ensure patient safety. Analyze cardiac rhythms and interpret diagnostic data to support clinical decision-making processes. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide detailed reports on cardiac diagnostics, contributing to treatment planning and follow-up care. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cardiovascular technology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to pediatric cardiology. Experience Proven experience performing echocardiography in a clinical setting, preferably within a pediatric or Level I/II trauma center environment. Hands-on experience with cardiac catheterization procedures and interventional radiology techniques is highly desirable. Familiarity with cath lab operations, cardiac stress testing, and emergency medicine protocols enhances suitability for this role. Demonstrated ability to operate advanced medical equipment used in cardiovascular diagnostics efficiently. Knowledge of physiology related to pediatric cardiovascular health and anatomy is essential for accurate imaging interpretation. Prior experience working within a Level II trauma center or emergency medicine setting is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong understanding of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and cardiovascular technology standards ensures high-quality patient care.
