Job Description

UF Health is seeking a CVT to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team in Gainesville, FL. In this role, you will support patient care by performing technical clinical tasks, assisting providers with procedures, and ensuring accurate documentation and workflow efficiency. Responsibilities Perform high-quality non-invasive cardiovascular diagnostic procedures (such as echocardiograms, stress echocardiography, and related studies) according to physician orders and established protocols. Prepare and position patients, verify identity and clinical history, explain procedures clearly, and ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout each exam. Operate, adjust, and troubleshoot cardiovascular imaging equipment to optimize image quality and obtain accurate hemodynamic and anatomical data. Recognize and document normal and abnormal findings, and promptly communicate urgent or critical results to the appropriate provider. Accurately document procedures, measurements, and observations in the electronic medical record, and ensure timely image and report transmission via PACS or related systems. Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies in a clean, safe, and organized condition, following all infection control, safety, and regulatory guidelines. Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to support diagnostic decision-making and coordinated patient care. Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives to enhance imaging standards, workflow efficiency, and patient experience. Support training, orientation, or mentoring of students and new team members as requested, modeling UF Health's values of collaboration, inclusion, and continuous learning. Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain and expand cardiovascular technology knowledge, certifications, and competency.
