We have several locations in the Central Florida area, so must be willing to travel locally. Ideal candidate will be extremely familiar with the Central Florida area.
Position Summary:
The Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) is responsible for performing non-invasive vascular diagnostic procedures to assess blood flow and detect abnormalities in the arteries and veins. The RVT ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care by operating specialized ultrasound equipment, documenting findings, and collaborating with physicians to support accurate diagnoses and treatment planning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform vascular diagnostic ultrasound studies including but not limited to carotid duplex, venous duplex (DVT/insufficiency), arterial studies, ABI and segmental pressures testing, lower abdomen Iliac veins, Renal Artery and graft surveillance. Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, positioning them properly, and maintaining patient comfort and confidentiality. Operate ultrasound equipment and Doppler devices with proficiency to obtain accurate diagnostic images. Maintain and calibrate equipment to ensure operational efficiency. Analyze test results and provide preliminary findings to the interpreting physician. Accurately document all procedures, patient information, and image interpretations in the electronic medical record (EMR). Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all applicable regulatory and clinical standards. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other staff to coordinate patient care. Participate in continuing education and training to maintain certification and stay up to date with advances in vascular technology.
Qualifications:
Education:
Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program.
Certification:
Current certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) through ARDMS or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) through CCI.
Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years of vascular ultrasound experience preferred.
Licensure:
Current BLS certification.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of vascular anatomy and physiology. Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions. Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills. Proficiency in EMR systems and PACS.
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand, walk, and assist patients for extended periods. Requires visual acuity and manual dexterity to operate ultrasound equipment. May be required to lift or assist patients occasionally (up to 50 lbs).
Work Environment:
Clinical setting: outpatient clinic, hospital, or diagnostic imaging center. Exposure to bodily fluids, infectious diseases, and cleaning chemicals with proper PPE provided.
