The Registered Cardiac Sonographer performs diagnostic cardiac ultrasound exams, ensuring safe and accurate imaging to aid in disease diagnosis and treatment. This full-time position requires flexibility in work hours to meet departmental needs and emphasizes dependability, accountability, and cooperation.Key Responsibilities:
Verify clinician orders, gather patient history, and assess contraindications. Perform ultrasound exams following established protocols, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Obtain high-quality diagnostic images, review results, and document findings accurately. Assist with patient positioning, preparation, and post-procedural care. Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, troubleshoot issues, and ensure calibration. Provide patient education, explain procedures, and address questions using effective communication techniques. Ensure compliance with infection control, privacy policies, and regulatory standards. Support departmental operations, including restocking supplies and supporting team members.Qualifications & Skills:
High school diploma or GED; Diagnostic Medical Sonography training preferred.Certifications:
ARDMS, CCI, or RDCS, and BLS required upon hire. Minimum one year of echocardiography experience or relevant training preferred. Ability to operate ultrasound equipment, perform independent technical judgment, and maintain professionalism.Additional Details:
