Role Overview:
This role involves preparing patients and equipment, monitoring vital signs, operating imaging technology, and maintaining a sterile, safe environment to support high quality patient care.
Requirements:
2 years' experience required. Flu Vaccine Required - Medical/Religious Exemptions Only 1st time traveler experience accepted. Structural Heart Scrub Experience Required Skills Required -
Work Settings:
Diagnostic Cardiac Cath lab, Interventional Cardiac Cath lab.
Procedures:
Cardiac Stent Placement, Diagnostic Catheterizations Adult, IABP Placement/Removal, Interventional Catheterizations, Left heart catheterization, Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI), Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring, Right heart catheterization.
Medications:
Antiarrhythmics, Antihypertensives, Emergency Medications, IV vasopressors, Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring, Reversal agents, Thrombolytics.
IV therapy:
Blood Product Administration, IV infusion pumps, Starting IVs.
Professional Knowledge and Skills:
12 Lead EKG, Activated Clotting Time (ACT),
Cardioversion, Circulate Procedures, Infection Prevention, Interpretation/Management of Dysrhythmias, Isolation Precautions, Malignant Hyperthermia Protocols, Monitoring Procedural Sedation, Richmond Agitation-Sedation Scale, Sheath Removal and Monitoring, Cath Lab Procedure Experience Required:
Balloon Angioplasty, PCI, Stents, Thrombectomy, Impella insertion,
Left & Right Heart Catheterization, Rotablader Certifications Required:
ACLS, BLS
Unit Systems:
Pyxis, SBAR, Epic Preferred Skills / Certs /
Exp :
Work Settings Cardiac Cath Lab Procedures:
ASD Closures, Cardiac Implant Closure Device, Impella insertion, Rotablader athrectomy, Scrub Procedures, Transcatheter Aortic Valve implantation/Replacement (TAVI/TAVR).
Vascular Studies/Procedures:
angioplasty, dialysis graft interventional,
Upper and Lower Extremity Angiography IV Therapy:
Assist with Central Line Insertion/management, Implanted Ports - Care and Maintenance, PICC Lines -
Care and Maintenance Professional Knowledge and Skills:
End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, External Compression Devices (C-Clamp, Sandbags), Hypothermia protocols, Laser Assisted Procedures, Pressure Ulcer Assessment/Prevention, Radiation and Laser Safety, Topical Hemostasis (D-Stat, Chito-Seal, Syvek Patch), Vascular Closure Systems (Perclose, StarClose), Ventilator Monitoring.
Special Procedures/Unit Details:
Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)-ballon angioplasty and stent placement, PFO/ASD closure, Cardiogenic shock, CTO, ETC.
Special Equipment:
Siemens and General Electric (GE) Healthcare Fluoroscopy, Boston Scientific FFR/IVUS, Balloon Pump, Impella, iStat, AVOX, Rotablader (BS), TVP (Medtronic),
Mac Lab Schedule:
Day 5x8-Hour (06:45 AM - 3:15 PM) Mon.-Fri. Occasional late days, typically 4-5 days per month, it is rare that staff will work in the lab after 5:00 PM on those days.
Call Requirement:
Call one day a week and every fifth weekend.
Float Requirement:
