Job Description
Overview The Cardiac Sonographer at the WakeMed Heart Center at Raleigh Main Campus plays a vital role in delivering exceptional cardiovascular care by performing comprehensive echocardiographic studies that assess both normal and abnormal cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology. This team member utilizes advanced ultrasound technology to obtain and document high-quality diagnostic images in accordance with established guidelines, departmental policies, and best practices. The Cardiac Sonographer works collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and fellow team members to support accurate diagnoses and positive patient outcomes while exemplifying WakeMed's mission, values, and commitment to excellence in cardiovascular care. What You'll Do Perform cardiac ultrasound procedures in accordance with established guidelines, protocols, and departmental standards. Capture and document clear, comprehensive images of cardiovascular structures to support accurate diagnoses. Recognize normal and abnormal cardiac anatomy and physiology and communicate findings appropriately. Ensure ultrasound equipment is operated safely, effectively, and efficiently. Maintain accurate patient records and uphold quality and compliance standards. Partner with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical team members to support outstanding patient outcomes. Who We Are Looking For A compassionate and detail-oriented Cardiac Sonographer committed to delivering exceptional patient experiences. Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Sonography or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
