Qualifications Required:
Active Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification. Successful completion of cardio thoracic step-down unit technician orientation modules, classes, or clinical work. High School Diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.).
Preferred:

Status:
Per Diem (PD) Day Essential Functions Assumes direct responsibility for patient care and monitoring before, during, and after procedures under the direction and supervision of an RN for Post-Open Heart procedures. Performs bedside Electrocardiograms (ECGs) and accurate glucometer readings. Executes full admission setups specifically tailored for incoming Post-Open Heart admissions. Assists post-operative patients with early mobility and ambulation in collaboration with the nurse and physical therapist. Maintains the unit environment by restocking specialized supplies and managing equipment for Post-Open Heart patients.
