A Cardiovascular Technician or Technologist uses imaging technology and other procedures to diagnose cardiac (heart) and vascular (blood vessel) problems in patients. Works closely with cardiologists and medical sonographers. Works in hospitals and other healthcare facilities.

In this role, you will perform a variety of non-invasive diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures using independent judgment to capture clear, accurate images for physician evaluation. You will work closely with cardiologists and healthcare teams to deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging, maintain patient safety and comfort, and support timely patient care. This position does not perform vascular studies). Acquire quality Stress Echo and Dobutamine images following benchmark standards, completing post-exercise image acquisition within 60 seconds or less. Assist physicians with transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs), ensuring optimal imaging and patient safety. Ensure patient safety, comfort, proper positioning, and accurate patient identification/consents prior to procedures. Accurately document preliminary reports, procedural results, and patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. Prepares and maintains ultrasound equipment, supplies, and work areas to ensure readiness for patient care. Collaborate with healthcare teams to communicate changes in patient condition during procedures for timely evaluation by reading cardiologists. Demonstrate competency in age-specific care, adapting imaging techniques to meet the physiological, emotional, and cognitive needs of each patient. Maintain regular and reliable attendance and comply with all facility policies and standards.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience :
1-3 years of experience in echocardiography or cardiac sonography required. Pediatric or neonatal echocardiography experience is preferred.
Education & Primary Certification:
Graduation from an accredited program recognized by CHEA, USDOE, or CMA with programmatic accreditation for diagnostic medical sonography / cardiac sonography / vascular technology; OR Active RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) certification required.
Basic Life Support:
Active BCLS required within the first 7 days of employment.
