Category Nursing - CVOR Tech Job Type Contract Bring your specialized skills to a dynamic surgical team as a CVOR Technologist. This contract opportunity calls for expertise in cardiovascular and cardiothoracic cases such as CABG, valve replacements, VATS, and robotic chest procedures, supporting surgical brilliance and patient safety. The essential role will work under general direction within the Operating Room, practicing rigorous sterile technique and teamwork while anticipating surgical needs and participating in critical, life-saving procedures.

Schedule:

Choice of 5 eight-hour shifts or 4 ten-hour shifts (7:00am-3:30pm or 7:00am-5:30pm) 1 to 2 call shifts per week (each call shift is 15.5 or 13.5 hours) 1 to 2 weekends per month (24-hour Saturday and 24-hour Sunday call)

Qualifications:

Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA credential required) Current BLS certification Demonstrated CVOR and cardiothoracic experience (CABG, valve, VATS, and robotic chest procedures) Proficiency in surgical scrub technique and sterile/aseptic principles Proven ability to assist in a range of cardiovascular and general OR procedures Skilled in maintaining organized operative fields and precise instrument/supply management Strong communication with surgeons, nurses, and all OR staff Flexible to provide coverage in general OR as volume needs fluctuate

Responsibilities:

Follow Infection Control policies and maintain surgical asepsis at all times Anticipate and respond to the needs of the surgical team during procedures Maintain accurate count of sponges, tapes, needles, and instruments Assist with preparation and turnover of operating rooms between cases Practice specimen handling according to policy and preoperative safety checks Share expertise with newer staff members and contribute to a collaborative care environment Take rotating call as scheduled Advance your career in a role where your expertise matters every day.
