facility ARRT certification required and must be in hand at submission BLS certification required ACLS certification required Ohio Department of Health (ODH) license required Epic experience required Must be STEMI-ready IABP and Impella experience/training required Experience with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures EP Lab experience preferred Siemens and Philips equipment experience preferred Travel experience is not required; candidates will be reviewed based on experience No local candidates within 50 miles accepted Job Description The Cath Lab Technologist provides technical support during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures. The technologist assists physicians and the healthcare team with cardiac, vascular, neurological, and structural heart procedures while maintaining patient safety and adhering to established clinical protocols. This position supports a high-volume Cardiac Catheterization Lab performing diagnostic invasive testing and complex interventions. The technologist must be STEMI-ready and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Duties and Responsibilities The Cath Lab Technologist is expected to provide safe and effective technical support during cardiac and interventional procedures. Specific duties may include but are not limited to: Assist with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures. Support PCI, angioplasty, stent placement, left heart catheterization, and right heart catheterization procedures. Assist with STEMI/emergency cardiac cases. Support IABP placement and removal. Assist with Impella insertion and related procedures. Perform and assist with EKG lead placement. Start peripheral IVs as required. Assist with vascular and angiographic procedures. Support carotid stenting and upper/lower extremity angiography. Assist with structural heart and CTO procedures. Provide technical support for neuro and vascular procedures as needed. Assist with IR procedures including paracentesis and thoracentesis. Prepare patients, equipment, and procedure rooms for scheduled and emergency cases. Maintain sterile technique and follow infection-control protocols. Monitor and maintain appropriate equipment and supplies during procedures. Utilize Siemens and Philips equipment as applicable. Document procedures and patient information accurately in Epic. Collaborate with cardiologists, radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Maintain patient safety and respond appropriately to emergency situations. Float to the EP Lab as needed if Cath Lab/IR case volume is low, when appropriately qualified. Follow all department, hospital, and client facility policies and procedures. Working Conditions The Cath Lab Technologist works in a fast-paced cardiac and interventional environment serving adult and geriatric patients. The department has approximately 25-30 patients per day and 7 procedure rooms . The position may involve diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, STEMI/emergency cases, vascular and neurological procedures, structural heart procedures, and other complex interventions. The technologist may be exposed to blood and bodily fluids, infectious or communicable diseases, radiation, and other healthcare-related environmental conditions. Appropriate PPE and safety protocols must be followed at all times. The role requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods and may require bending, reaching, lifting, positioning patients, and moving equipment. The technologist must be able to remain calm and effective in high-pressure emergency and STEMI situations. Additional Requirements One weekday on-call shift per week is required. Every 5th weekend is on call. Weekend call consists of two weekends during the 13-week contract, from Friday 6:00 PM through Monday 7:00 AM. One additional night of call is required each week. One holiday call may be required if the assignment overlaps a designated holiday period. Floating to EP may be required based on Cath Lab/IR case volume and candidate qualifications. Epic charting experience is required. No block scheduling. Schedule may be changed with two weeks' notice to balance staffing needs. Scrubs are provided. Locals within a 50-mile radius are not accepted. SSN, DOB, and AHA certifications are required for submission. Two professional references from within the last 24 months are required. Requested time off of 7+ days requires manager approval. No holiday RTO is permitted. Only one job can be submitted at a time under the applicable travel compliance policy. Floating to other qualified units and/or facilities may be required. First 8 hours of facility modules are non-billable; additional eligible module time may be billable according to facility policy.
