Job Description

Overview Location- Novant Health Heart & Vascular- Okatie, SC Performs echocardiography studies and stress ECHOs. Recognizes, calculates, interprets, and analyzes the hemodynamic data served from echocardiography studies. At Novant Health, one of our core values is diversity and inclusion. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), stress testing and other non-invasive cardiac ultrasound procedures, ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis. Collaborate with cardiology and interventional teams to provide real-time imaging support during procedures like cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology interventions. Monitor patient vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation, throughout imaging procedures to ensure safety and stability. Maintain detailed documentation of imaging results, procedural notes, and patient records in compliance with hospital policies and medical terminology standards. Educate patients about the procedure process, addressing questions confidently while demonstrating compassionate care. Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and operated following safety standards such as aseptic technique and anatomy knowledge.
Requirements Education:
High School or GED, required. 2 Year / Associate Degree, required. Certification Program in lieu of Associate Degree accepted, preferred. Graduate from a formal Cardiovascular Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, preferred.
Experience:
Two years of echocardiography experience, preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Registered Cardiac Sonographer, credentials RDCS or RCS (New Graduate will have 6 months to pass registry), required. Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient(s)' age. Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient(s)' requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Considerable verbal ability to effectively communicate observations and input to nursing staff, physicians, and other department staff.
Pay:
$40.00 - $45.00 per hour
