Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. The CVOR Tech plays a vital role in supporting cardiovascular surgical procedures by preparing and maintaining surgical instruments, assisting surgical teams, and ensuring optimal patient care throughout complex cardiac and vascular surgeries. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in cardiovascular surgery assistance, critical care, and hospital-based medical procedures, demonstrating a commitment to safety, precision, and compassionate care. Responsibilities Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing and arranging surgical instruments, ensuring all equipment meets strict infection control standards. Assist surgeons during cardiovascular surgeries by passing instruments, suturing, and managing surgical tools with precision. Monitor patient vital signs and physiological parameters throughout procedures, providing support for anesthesia teams as needed. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or similar platforms. Support the sterilization and maintenance of medical equipment, ensuring compliance with hospital protocols for infection prevention. Assist with the treatment of fractures, trauma care, and other emergent situations requiring acute care expertise. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including neurosurgery, orthopedics, pediatrics, and endoscopy units to facilitate comprehensive patient care. Demonstrate proficiency in handling surgical instruments specific to cardiovascular and neurosurgical procedures. Ensure adherence to aseptic techniques and hospital policies to prevent healthcare-associated infections. Participate in training sessions on new medical equipment operation and updates in surgical procedures. Skills Extensive experience with data collection related to patient monitoring and surgical outcomes. Proven background in Level I Trauma Center environments and Level II Trauma Center experience preferred. Strong knowledge of hospital medicine, emergency medicine protocols, and critical care practices. Skilled in assisting with cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, and endoscopy procedures. Proficient in operating medical equipment such as ventilators, monitors, sterilizers, and specialized surgical tools. Deep understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and treatment of fractures. Experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic for accurate documentation of patient records. Ability to perform suturing techniques efficiently while maintaining sterile fields. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention strategies including aseptic technique. Excellent analysis skills for interpreting vital signs and physiological data during surgeries. Familiarity with medical equipment sterilization processes aligned with hospital standards. Strong patient care orientation combined with effective communication skills across diverse healthcare teams. Previous ambulatory surgery center experience is advantageous.
