Job Description

Cath Lab Tech I Position Summary:
The Cardiovascular Technologist/Technician is responsible for monitoring of physiologic data received during cardiac catheterization: performs the technical aspects of cardiac catheterization; and assists the physician during the procedure.
Education:
1. Must have registration through the Texas Department of State Health Services Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification (MRT). 2. Must obtain registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) within 12 months of hire or transfer to department.
Training and Experience:
1. Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association upon hire or transfer to department. 2. A minimum of one year experience in Radiology. Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions A. Required to lift and transfer patients for transportation and treatment. Must be able to stand for long periods of time as well as push patients in wheelchairs, beds, or stretchers with accompanying medical devices. B. Possible exposure to infectious diseases and radiation. C. Required to work a variable work schedule.
