Job Summary:
The Mental Health Collective Programs is seeking a full-time TMS Technician to support the clinical delivery and day-to-day operations of an interventional psychiatry practice supported by The Mental Health Collective. Working under the clinical direction of the practice's psychiatrists, this role is responsible for administering Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatments for FDA-cleared indications as well as evidence-based off-label indications where clinically appropriate, coordinating patient scheduling, supporting intake and follow-up processes, and ensuring a high standard of patient care throughout treatment. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced psychiatric setting. This position plays a central role in helping patients access innovative, evidence-based treatment for treatment-resistant depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder , and other evidence-based indications, while also ensuring smooth clinical operations and excellent patient experience.
Education/Experience/Skills Required:
- High School Diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and competing priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a clinical setting.
- Comfort learning and using technology, scheduling systems, and electronic health records.
- Reliable transportation and consistent availability for a Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM schedule.
- Proficiency in EMR, preferably KIPU or Dr Chrono
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must have a required health screening and PPD skin test
- Must have criminal record clearance
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to de-escalate agitated clients
- Familiarity with DCHS, CARF and Joint Commission standards of care.
- Familiarity with commonly used psychiatric medications and side effects.
- Must be self-motivated, outgoing, and personable.
Responsibilities :
Clinical Delivery and Patient Care Administer TMS treatments following established protocols and safety standards Conduct pre-treatment patient assessments and symptom rating scales (PHQ-9, GAD-7, etc.) Obtain and record patient vital signs as needed, in accordance with clinic protocols Screen patients daily regarding lifestyle factors that may impact treatment safety or response (e.g., sleep, alcohol or substance use, caffeine intake, medication changes) and communicate relevant findings to the clinical team Maintain detailed TMS session documentation and outcome tracking Troubleshoot equipment issues and report maintenance needs promptly Educate patients on TMS mechanisms, expected timeline, and realistic outcomes Provide compassionate, attentive care during treatment sessions Offer supportive, patient-centered interventions when patients express concerns, hesitancy, or ambivalence about treatment—listening to their concerns, providing reassurance and education, and escalating to the clinical team when appropriate, while always respecting patient autonomy Scheduling and Patient Coordination Manage the TMS treatment schedule, including consultations, treatment series, follow-up appointments, and maintenance sessions. Coordinate scheduling needs with psychiatrists, medical providers, and other members of the clinical team. Respond to patient phone calls, intake inquiries, and scheduling requests in a professional, compassionate, and timely manner. Manage cancellations, reschedules, and no-show follow-up while maintaining continuity of care and efficient calendar management. Verify insurance coverage and communicate patient financial responsibility, including copays and appointment expectations, prior to treatment when applicable. Maintain organized scheduling records and communicate clinical priorities or concerns to the appropriate provider. Administrative and Program Support Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality in all patient communication, documentation, and handling of records. Support completion of intake paperwork, treatment tracking, and patient education materials. Track treatment session data, equipment use, and clinical supplies. Assist with prior authorization processes, billing coordination, and administrative workflows as needed. Collaborate with the clinical team to support smooth operation of interventional psychiatry services, including TMS as applicable. All direct care staff shall have graduated from high school or possess a GED and have a minimum of one (1) year of full-time experience, or its part-time equivalent, working in a program serving persons with mental disabilities. Such experience must be in the direct provision of services to clients. If the employee does not have the required experience, the program shall document a specific plan of supervision and in-service training for the employee which will guarantee the ongoing qualification of the employee to perform the job. The plan should include but not be limited to the frequency and number of hours of training, the subjects to be covered, and a description of the supervision to be provided.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
Work is primarily sedentary in nature, occasionally lifting 30 or more pounds and must be able to lift up to 50 pounds (ie. luggage). Must be able to walk, stoop, sit, stand, climb, stretch, reach, and possess finger/dexterity. Must be able to walk and work standing on feet up to 75% of the day. Must have a level of mobility necessary to meet patients' needs.
Quality of hearing (whether natural or with accommodation) must be acceptable due to frequent phone conversations with business representatives, potential clients, and families. They must exhibit the ability to display coping skills to handle multiple calls and duties. The risk of exposure to unpredictable situations (i.e., client behavior) exists.
Pay:
$24.00 - $27.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
