Position Summary A dental treatment coordinator is responsible for closing or assisting in the closing of treatment plans generated by the doctor and coordinating financial resources to allow patients to pursue needed treatment. Primary Responsibilities Explain treatment plans to patients, address concerns, and answer questions. Assist the patient in prioritizing treatment and establish a plan for scheduling payment. Outline estimates for patient responsibilities versus insurance coverage. Follow-up on unscheduled, cancelled and missed appointments. Collect patient payments for dental procedures, including copayments, deductibles, estimated patient portions, deposits, and balances due. Secondary Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and provide professional, courteous customer service. Answer incoming phone calls, assist patients promptly, and direct calls approximately. Review insurance benefits, eligibility, and demographic information. Communicate professionally with patients regarding outstanding balances, treatment costs, and financial policies. Assist with daily front-office operations, including working work queues, confirmation calls, check in and check out patients. Follow office policies and procedures regarding patient payments, refunds, adjustments, and financial documentation. Maintain a professional, positive, and respectful attitude when interacting with patients, coworkers, and providers. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Previous dental front-office or treatment coordination experience preferred. Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures and insurance benefits. Strong communication and customer service skills. Comfortable discussing treatment costs and collecting payments. Ability to handle confidential patient and financial information. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dental office environment. Bi-lingual preferred Ability to work cooperatively with dentists, clinical staff, and other front-office team members.
