Job Description

Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence (CCADV), is the voice against domestic violence across Connecticut. Our work transforms political, economic and social responses to end domestic violence in Connecticut . We lead a statewide network of 18 domestic violence organizations that offer a variety of trauma informed services to survivors of sexual and domestic violence. These services include advocacy, housing advocacy, legal advocacy, group counseling and safety planning. This position was developed to address the barriers survivors face when accessing community based behavioral health care. CCADV is currently seeking two clinical care coordinators. About the
Position:
The Clinical Care Coordinator is a CCADV employee who will work with four assigned domestic violence member organizations and offer short term clinical services to survivors receiving services from member programs. Specifically, the Clinical Care Coordinator will work with survivors experiencing difficulty connecting with community providers. This position will bridge and combine, clinical intervention, behavioral health services, case consultation, and community partnership development with behavioral health practitioners. Additionally, this position will also provide educational support to staff at assigned member organizations and assist them in developing working relationships with local community providers. Upon hire, the clinician must complete CCADV's 40-hour domestic violence certification training as part of the orientation process. Supervision for this position will be provided by CCADV's Clinical Director. The Clinical Care Coordinator will travel to assigned member programs for a minimum of two days per week with the aim of building relationships with staff and clients, as well as between local behavioral health agencies and the domestic violence organization. The Clinical Care Coordinator is expected to be accessible via phone and email to all assigned programs, to provide crisis intervention and emergency response as needed. The Clinical Care Coordinator will also support the program by collaborating with local mental health agencies and work to develop a better working relationship and referral process with these agencies. The Coordinator will also work with the Clinical Director to help identify domestic violence training needs and resources for behavioral health providers in order to enhance awareness, build skills and support a trauma informed response to working with individuals impacted by domestic violence. This position is grant funded by the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS). As a grant funded position, employment is contingent upon the continuation of grant funding and the successful completion program objectives.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in social work, counseling, or a related field. Working knowledge of domestic violence & related service provision for survivors and their children. Experience providing trauma-informed crisis interventions & emergency response Familiarity with CT based resources, services, natural supports and interventions for survivor and their children. Previous clinical experience providing addictions and mental health treatment. Familiarity with mental health and substance use disorders. Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound clinical judgment, and effectively problem-solve in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills Computer proficient and able to use an EMR to maintain timely documentation.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION
Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and valid auto insurance. License eligible (LCSW, LMFT or LPC).
JOB DUTIES
Provides services to four domestic violence organizations in Connecticut. Offers drop-in and scheduled services in person and via telehealth. Provides brief short-term therapy to adult and child survivors of domestic violence. Offers behavioral health assessments, trauma-informed care, evidence-based practices, brief-intervention counseling, harm reduction strategies, overdose prevention education and safety planning. Makes clinical recommendations and referrals to community providers. Meets productivity standards established by contract. Conducts weekly intervention meeting with program advocates. Provides in person and virtual crisis intervention support. Provides phone consultation and guidance to member program regarding client behavioral health. Participates in supervision, staff meetings, trainings, agency and community committees, and other duties as assigned. Provide domestic violence education to clients, community partners and the general public as needed. Responsible for project specific grant deliverables, monitoring, technical support, assisting grant reports detailing activities, challenges, trends and successes. Initiates and maintains effective working relationships with various agencies and clinicians in private practice, project partners, and CCADV membership. Takes initiative and/or independent action to ensure work responsibilities are carried out fully and completely. Thinks expansively by uniquely combining ideas or making connections between disparate ideas and explores different views from multiple perspectives. Adapts to changing job priorities, CCADV needs, and project objectives. Remains open to new ideas and developing new skills as needed• Demonstrates supportive behaviors and accepts personal accountability toward CCADV's objectives and policies. Builds effective, cooperative, positive relationships with co-workers and actively participate in the daily operations of CCADV. Reports and meets regularly with the Clinical Director overseeing this project Provides relevant updates and reports for all committees, collaborations, grant deliverables, and reporting periods. Supports CCADV's leadership and its Board of Directors. Travel is required.
Compensation Salary Range:
