Job Description

Job Purpose:
The Recovery Specialist functions as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team with the primary responsibility of monitoring consumer behavior while on the unit, developing treatment plans, discharge planning, and other responsibilities needed to assist consumers in transitioning back to the community following admission to the Crisis Stabilization Unit.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist clients in developing and implementing personalized recovery plans. Monitor and support clients during their recovery process, ensuring adherence to treatment plans. Facilitate group and individual therapy sessions to promote client engagement and progress. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure continuity of treatment. Provide crisis intervention and support as needed to address immediate client needs. Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation. Educate clients and their families about recovery processes and available resources. Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay informed about best practices in recovery support. Ensure a safe and supportive environment for clients by adhering to center policies and procedures.
Required Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in psychology, social work, or a related field preferred.
Required Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a behavioral health setting or related field. Experience working with individuals in recovery or with mental health challenges. Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques and recovery principles.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients and colleagues. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in basic computer applications and electronic health records. Demonstrated ability to manage stressful situations calmly and effectively. Compassionate and empathetic approach to client care and support. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting client interactions and progress.
