Job Description

Overview:
We are looking for a friendly, organized, and dependable Hygiene Coordinator to join our amazing dental team. This position is responsible for keeping the hygiene schedule organized and productive, coordinating patient appointments, verifying insurance benefits, following up with patients, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who enjoys working with patients, is detail-oriented, and can work well in a busy dental office. Dental or insurance experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person.
Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate the hygiene schedule Monday-Thursday Schedule hygiene patients and help keep the schedule full and productive Confirm hygiene appointments and follow up with patients who have not confirmed Contact patients who are due or overdue for their hygiene appointments Help fill cancellations and open spots in the hygiene schedule Verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility before appointments Review hygiene benefits, including frequency limitations, deductibles, maximums, and remaining benefits Communicate with the front desk and clinical team regarding insurance questions and patient needs. Make sure treatment plans and recommended follow-up appointments are scheduled. Review patient accounts and notify patients of outstanding balances when appropriate. Answer and respond to patient phone calls and text messages Respond to patient questions in a friendly and professional manner Keep text messages organized and archive conversations after they have been addressed Update patient forms and make sure information is current Assist with patient check-in and check-out when needed Help patients understand their appointments, insurance benefits, and estimated patient portions Maintain accurate notes and documentation in the patient's chart Follow office policies and procedures consistently Provide excellent customer service and create a welcoming experience for every patient
Qualifications:
Previous dental front office experience preferred Knowledge of dental terminology and insurance is a plus Strong communication and interpersonal skills Proficient with computers and scheduling software Excellent attention to detail and multitasking ability Professional, reliable, and team-oriented Benefits (if applicable): Competitive pay based on experience Dental benefits Paid time off and holidays Supportive, positive team environment
