Job Description
Joshua Tree Health is an adolescent behavioral health practice in Apex, NC serving teens ages 10-17 through Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization (PHP) programs. We are hiring an Admissions Coordinator to be the first voice families hear when they reach out for help. This is an in-person role, 4-5 days per week at our Apex office. The right person is empathetic, sharp, and genuinely motivated to help families find the right care for their child. What you'll do: Serve as the primary point of contact for all inbound admissions inquiries — phone and email Conduct compassionate, thorough intake screenings to assess fit and level of care Guide families through every step of the admissions process from first contact to first session Verify insurance benefits and clearly explain coverage, deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs to families Coordinate prior authorization submissions and follow up with insurance companies Schedule clinical assessments and orientation appointments in our EHR Cover phones and respond to the admissions inbox during group therapy sessions Follow up on all inquiries with urgency — no lead goes cold, no family is left waiting Maintain accurate and complete records in our EHR and CRM systems Collaborate with the clinical and billing teams to ensure smooth onboarding for every new client What we're looking for: 2+ years in a healthcare admissions, patient access, or medical front office role — behavioral health experience preferred Exceptional interpersonal and phone skills — you can hold a difficult conversation with a distressed parent and leave them feeling heard and helped Experience verifying insurance benefits (VOB) with commercial payors is a strong plus Comfort with EHR platforms and administrative software Detail-oriented, organized, and highly reliable Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Genuine care for the families and adolescents we serve
