Job Description

GFL Environmental is seeking a CDL Residential Driver to safely operate collection vehicles on assigned residential waste and recycling routes. You'll perform pre/post-trip inspections, follow all DOT and company safety standards, and ensure timely, accurate collection of containers while interacting professionally with customers and the community. This role requires efficient route navigation, proper loading techniques, and accurate documentation of services. Responsibilities Safely operate CDL residential collection trucks on assigned routes Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections Collect and empty residential waste and recycling containers per schedule Follow all DOT, company, and site-specific safety procedures Document routes, loads, incidents, and service exceptions accurately Provide courteous, professional service and respond to customer concerns Report vehicle issues, route hazards, and equipment needs promptly Work closely with dispatch and operations to meet route timelines Required Skills CDL commercial driving Air brake operation Vehicle inspection and basic maintenance Route navigation and optimization Safe loading and unloading DOT compliance Time management Customer service Recordkeeping and log management Two-way radio and onboard systems use
