Job Description
Licensed Mental Health Professional (LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT) BetterCare Wellness — Charlotte, NC | Independent Contractor (1099) About the Role BetterCare Wellness partners with senior living communities across the Charlotte metro area to bring on-site mental health counseling directly to older adults where they live. As a contracted clinician, you'll focus on what you do best — providing excellent clinical care — while we handle the business side that usually eats into a private practice clinician's time and income. This is a 1099 independent contractor position with productivity-based compensation — the more clients you see, the more you earn, with no cap. What We Take Off Your Plate Most independent clinicians spend hours a week on things that have nothing to do with therapy. We remove that burden entirely, so your time goes toward clients, not paperwork: Patient referrals — a steady caseload delivered through our senior-community partnerships, so you're not prospecting for clients Credentialing — we handle enrollment and payer credentialing on your behalf Billing — full Medicare Part B billing support, so you're never chasing claims or reimbursement EHR & documentation systems — access to our platform, already set up and ready to use Administrative support — day-to-day logistics handled so you're not doing it solo Clinical consultation — ongoing access to consultation and support from our clinical team In short: no credentialing headaches, no billing backlog, no chasing referrals. You show up, collaborate with community staff, see clients, and get paid — we run the rest. Compensation Pay is structured around caseload volume: 20 clients/week → $75,000/year 25 clients/week → $95,000/year 30 clients/week → $113,000/year Most clinicians serve 1-4 senior living communities and carry a caseload of around 25 clients per week. What You'll Do Provide on-site individual counseling to residents in senior living communities Conduct mental health assessments and develop care plans Serve as BetterCare Wellness's primary relationship contact with community staff at your assigned site(s) Maintain clinical documentation using our EHR system, in compliance with Medicare Part B and ethical/licensure standards Collaborate with families, caregivers, and facility staff to support resident wellbeing What We're Looking For Fully and independently licensed in North Carolina — LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT, LPA, or Psychologist. This role is not suitable for provisionally licensed or associate-level clinicians. Comfortable working independently as a contractor, focused on clinical work Strong relationship-building skills — you'll be the face of BetterCare Wellness within your communities Genuine interest in older adult mental health and senior living settings Contractor Status This is a 1099 independent contractor role with productivity-based pay and no salary floor or ceiling. As an independent contractor, you are responsible for your own health insurance, retirement contributions, and self-employment taxes; BetterCare Wellness does not provide employee benefits for this role. What we do provide is everything listed above — the infrastructure that lets you practice without running a business on the side. Why BetterCare Wellness Referral resources that provide a full caseload Guaranteed base pay during onboarding Credentialing, billing, and administrative support so you can focus on clients Set your own schedule across 1-4 senior living communities Uncapped, productivity-based earning potential Work directly with communities you'll get to know well, not a rotating caseload of strangers
