We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Rehabilitation Counselor to join our mental health team. The ideal candidate will support individuals living with serious mental illness by helping them develop the skills and access the resources they need to live independently, improve social functioning, and achieve personal recovery goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments to identify clients' strengths, needs, and goals. Develop and implement individualized psychiatric rehabilitation plans (IRPs). Provide one-on-one and group support services to promote recovery, independent living, and community integration. Teach life skills, including budgeting, job readiness, communication, coping strategies, and self-care. Coordinate care with clinical providers, case managers, and family members. Assist clients with navigating housing, employment, transportation, and educational services. Document services in compliance with state and agency guidelines. Advocate for clients' needs and help reduce barriers to community participation. Participate in regular team meetings and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications:
1-2 years of experience working with individuals with serious mental illness or behavioral health disorders. Strong interpersonal, communication, and crisis intervention skills. Knowledge of recovery principles, trauma-informed care, and person-centered planning.
Preferred Skills:
Bilingual abilities are a plus. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems. Understanding of local community resources and support systems.
