Assistant Care Coordinator About the Position We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and experienced Assistant Care Coordinator to support the overall well-being, development, and safety of children and youth in our care. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to work closely with children, and direct care staff. This position involves direct interaction with youth, crisis management, case consultation, staff supervision, documentation, and administrative responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Spend at least one (1) hour per week directly involved in child/youth-specific responsibilities, including: Crisis management and behavioral support Daily living skills development Peer relationship support Future planning Discharge planning and transition support Spend at least one (1) additional hour per week performing related professional duties, including: Intake discussions Case staffing Administrative duties Program-related meetings and documentation Spend a portion of each week observing, watching, and interacting directly with each child/youth to understand their individual needs, strengths, behaviors, and progress. Meet weekly with direct care staff , individually or in groups, to discuss specific children/youth and monitor their: Behavioral needs Social and emotional development Educational needs Vocational development Nutritional needs Permanency and family-related needs observations, and case-related activities are appropriately documented in the child's summary notes and other required records . Provide supervision, guidance, and support to direct care staff regarding the care and supervision of children and youth. Assist with crisis intervention and ensure staff follow established safety, behavioral, and program procedures. Participate in team meetings, case reviews, staff evaluations, training, and other program activities as assigned. Promote a safe, structured, supportive, and nurturing environment for all children and youth. Required Qualifications Candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university. At least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Experience working with children or youth is strongly preferred. Experience in a residential, behavioral health, foster care, social services, educational, or related setting is preferred. Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively with children/youth, families, direct care staff, and professional team members. Ability to remain calm and make appropriate decisions during crisis situations. Strong documentation and case-management skills. Ability to maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and ethical standards.
