Job Description
Behavior Support Professional The Jackson County Developmental Center of WV is seeking a Behavioral Support Professional to join our team. The IDD/Waiver Program provides services to individuals that have been diagnosed with an intellectual disability. The ideal candidate will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Waiver Services, will be a part of the JCDC Clinical Team, and will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of the mission of JCDC. The Behavioral Support Professional is responsible for ensuring that person-centered support is provided, as outlined by each individual's treatment plan. Key responsibilities include using independent judgment to develop individualized plans that help each client build the skills and supports needed to thrive as independently as possible in home and community settings. The Behavioral Support Professional will develop training programs and aspire to provide a safe, nurturing environment where participants can flourish. The position will be based in our Jackson County office located in Millwood, WV and will cover Jackson and Wood counties in West Virginia. A company car is provided when travel is required. What you will need:
- A bachelor's degree is required from an accredited college or university in nursing, social work, counseling, special education or a closely related field of study.
Preferred:
A minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities.- Social Work License or eligibility preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work with clients and families.
- Valid driver's license and automobile insurance coverage.
- Criminal Background Check.
- Flexibility to occasionally work irregular hours, including taking calls on evenings and weekends when needed.
