Maryland Heights Center for Behavioral Health and Osage Beach Center for Behavioral Health - Are you a passionate Intake Specialist looking to join a team to improve behavioral health in your community? We would like for you to consider our Central Intake Specialist opportunity for two hospitals and carry out our vision of bringing communities, healthcare providers, and families together to improve behavioral health, one patient at a time. We provide psychiatric care to geriatric patients who require inpatient hospitalization due to mental disorders like cognitive illnesses. As Intake Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating admissions to the hospital and our sister hospital in Osage Beach through relationships and communication with referral sources, providers and nursing staff. You would be responsible for managing referrals for both Maryland Heights and Osage Beach.
Position Highlights:
Answer and screen calls from referral sources. Complete paperwork for all referral calls, documenting all information so that an accurate decision can be made by the provider for appropriateness of hospital services. Demonstrate a working knowledge and use throughout the intake process of reported medical information, including but not limited to medications, tests, behaviors and history. Communicate effectively with providers and nursing staff to ensure efficient and appropriate admissions.
Medical Records Chart Audits Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Hours:
7:00pm-3:00am Mon-Fri -some weekends may be required
Qualifications:
Licensed Practical Nurse not required, preferred Good communication skills (verbal and written). Computer literate. One-year experience working in a similar position, or one year of clinical experience with the primary population served by the program.
