Fingerprint background check required Position Summary The Informatician will lead public health informatics planning for a state data modernization initiative, supporting the movement of data from existing systems and enterprise repositories into a new interactive statewide health data platform. This role bridges technical data systems work with public health practice, helping ensure reliable data feeds, strong governance, and a clear migration path for existing dashboards and reporting tools. Key Responsibilities Lead public health informatics planning for moving data from current systems and enterprise-level repositories into the new platform, including related data modernization activities Support development and maintenance of new data feeds from existing state agency data sources and information systems Support data governance — metadata, data integration, data quality — for state agency data sources and information systems Identify a possible migration strategy for optionally transitioning existing departmental dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, and related platforms) into the new platform Apply experience with data exchange protocols Monitor and resolve technical issues affecting the flow of data feeds available for ingestion Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field — OR a Master's degree in Public Health with a concentration in Public Health Informatics Experience with Microsoft Office tools Experience with SQL, Python, JavaScript, or Azure data services (Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or Cosmos DB) Knowledge of coding standards such as HL7, LOINC, SNOMED, ICD-10, CPT, and other clinical/message coding 2+ years of experience working in a public health setting Additional Candidate Requirements Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical staff, verbally and in writing Ability to provide technical assistance, training, and support based on applicable principles and standards Ability to pass a fingerprint background check

Pay:

From $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
