Job Description

Position Summary The
SUD & MHRS
Consultant Candidate will support the development, compliance, and operational readiness of Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health Rehabilitation Services programs. This position is ideal for a candidate with experience in behavioral health, clinical documentation, Medicaid billing readiness, licensing, audits, policy implementation, staff training, and program workflow development. The candidate must understand confidentiality, HIPAA, professional conduct, and the importance of following regulatory and agency requirements. Key Responsibilities The
SUD & MHRS
Consultant Candidate may assist with: Supporting SUD and MHRS program startup, compliance, and daily operations. Reviewing clinical workflows from intake to assessment, treatment planning, service delivery, discharge, and aftercare. Assisting with policy and procedure development for behavioral health services. Supporting staff training on documentation, compliance, HIPAA, confidentiality, and service expectations. Reviewing charts for completeness, accuracy, signatures, service justification, and timely documentation. Assisting with Medicaid billing readiness, service authorization workflows, and required documentation. Supporting audit preparation, survey readiness, corrective action plans, and quality improvement activities. Helping ensure that clinical staff follow program expectations, documentation timelines, and treatment plan requirements. Supporting coordination between clinical, administrative, billing, medical records, and QA/QI staff. Maintaining professional boundaries and protecting client, staff, and company information at all times.
Minimum Qualifications Preferred qualifications include:
Experience in SUD, MHRS, behavioral health, mental health, or healthcare administration. Knowledge of clinical documentation and treatment planning. Familiarity with Medicaidfunded behavioral health services preferred. Experience with audits, compliance, licensing, or quality assurance preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to review records and identify missing or incomplete documentation. Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional ethics. Experience with EHR systems preferred. Accreditation with major National Organization Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is: Detailoriented and organized. Familiar with behavioral health program operations. Comfortable reviewing charts and documentation. Able to train or guide staff professionally. Knowledgeable about HIPAA and confidentiality. Able to work with clinical and administrative teams. Reliable, ethical, and professional. Able to identify compliance risks and recommend solutions.
